About the Teacher Grant Program

Teacher grants should fall under one of the primary three focus areas established by the Board:

  • Curriculum

  • Technology

  • Facility & Equipment Improvements

Grants should affect the greatest number of students at Kincaid. To the extent that projects impact smaller student groups, the Board will endeavor to maintain a balance in spending across the entire student population. Individual classroom requests will not be considered.

When considering grants, the Board will focus its attention on large-scale, large-dollar needs at the school that cannot be easily met by School or PTA funds. Requests should demonstrate how the funded project will impact student achievement.

Approval Process

The Board will consider Project Assistance Requests once in the fall and once in the spring. Applications must be submitted to the principal first for review and comment through the Teacher Grant Project Assistance Form located below. The principal will then submit the request to the Teacher Grant Committee for further review, at which time the committee may request additional information if needed. This committee is comprised of two parents, two Foundation board members, two teachers, and a PTA representative.

The Student Council will also be given the chance to review and comment on the application. The Teacher Grant Committee will present applications at the Board of Directors meetings with a recommendation for approval or denial. The Board will then vote on each request individually, requiring a majority vote for approval.
